This probing documentary by Gerard Ungerman and Audrey Brohy attempts to answer a series of unsettling questions pertaining to the Gulf War of the 1990s. For example, why didn't the US government ever truly support Iraqi opposition to Saddam Hussein? Also, if the embargo over Iraq did nothing to minimize Hussein's control and power, then what was the purpose of going to war in the first place? The documentary also addresses the mysterious "Gulf War Syndrome" that has plagued many veterans upon returning from Iraq. Featuring interviews with several key players, HIDDEN WARS OF DESERT STORM is an unsettling, but enlightening, portrait of a complicated situation.
